Auditions: The Small Hours, an instant drama

We often define our lives by "the big". The big decisions, the big events, the big milestones, and the big wins and losses. Because of this, all of life's little seemingly "insignificant moments" get swallowed up and then you look back and you realize your favorite memory of the party was setting up with your best friends the night before, or that it was your decision to try a new coffeeshop that led you to the love of your life. In this show, we will meet two people and follow them and their loves ones through the befores and afters of a significant moment, but we will never see said significant moment, because this show isn't for the big ones, it's for the small hours in between.

TM productions focus on grounded improvisation that explore the entire spectrum of human emotion, dealing with vulnerable human beings behaving honestly and connecting deeply. Auditioners are encouraged to consider themselves actors first and improvisors second.

Auditions are Sunday, November 15 and 22, 12-2:30 PM

Some pay: cast members receive 35% of the ticket sales.
Auditions slots are 40 minutes apiece with 15 minutes between. If you are available for more than one slot, please email us to let us know, so we can spread out auditioners across the slots evenly. The entire audition will be improvised scenes, so there is nothing to prepare.

Rehearsals: Sundays, 12-2:30 PM, December 6-January 17 (no rehearsals 12/27)
Preference will be given to actors who can do all 6 rehearsals. Show dates have flexibility and off-nights built into the schedule.

Shows: Fridays/Saturdays, 7 PM, January 22-February 13, 2027 (8 shows)

Auditions: Code Mercy, an improvised medical drama

Every hospital has a break room: a place tucked away from the noise, where coffee goes cold and exhausted people try to remember who they are. During the night shift, this room belongs to the nurses and janitors — the individuals who carry the weight of a failing system and keep it moving, often without being recognized.

Code Mercy explores the laughter, grief, resentment, tenderness, and silence that emerge when those who care for everyone else finally have a moment to stop performing competence.

We're looking for performers who can build detailed characters, listen before they speak, make specific choices, and follow the pressure of a scene. The work is ensemble-driven, grounded, and improvised based on the realities of the break room. No medical experience is required.

The world is fixed. Every night is different.

No script. No doctors. Just an ensemble building the story together.

Key Information for Performers:

• The hospital setting, the characters, and the rules of the world are fixed. The dialogue, relationships, and story are created live at every performance.

• Each show stands alone — this is not a serial. Their relationships will be different every night.

• Lived experience with healthcare, night-shift work, caregiving, or custodial work is welcome but not required. Personal disclosure is never required, and no one will be asked to draw on personal trauma.

• What happens when the people who keep everyone else going have no one caring for them?
