The Core Curriculum:
What will I learn at the Dramatic Improv Training Center?
Theatre Momentum’s classes will teach you the skills to create performances that are believable, seamless, and smart. You will learn how to treat improv as a powerful tool to create instant theatre. To find meaning in every movement and expression. To mine your own personal experience to flesh out your characters. To explore your environment and subtle turns of language and staging that are heavy with meaning. TM also allows performers more stage time to develop characters and dialogue worthy of a scripted play, with actors creating characters they can keep for an entire 45 minute performance.
All classes are limited to 12 students apiece.

“Theatre Momentum classes are the real deal. Insightful, to the point, with a focus on specificity and honest reaction. Tony helps find the easy way to living truthfully in imaginary circumstances.” -Allison A.
“The style this institution evangelizes has allowed me to get out of my own way on a more consistent basis. There’s nothing like doing scene work without breaking, figuratively speaking, a sweat. Or, the realization of ‘wow, that was much easier than normal’ dawning upon you. Additionally, sure, there is an element of mysticism associated with this art form. But, Tony provides rational, easily understandable reasoning as to why things work as opposed to ‘Yay! Magic!'” -John L.
“Theatre Momentum is a great place for improvisers of all levels. As someone that came to Theatre Momentum with very little improvising experience, I was welcomed with open arms and open minds. The director, Tony Rielage, has a keen eye for finding your strengths and weaknesses, and utilizes exercises and games to help strengthen your relationships and your environments in your scene work. Theatre Momentum’s style is grounded in reality, and while some might feel it limits your choices, I feel it is refreshing to be able to take your time with scene partner and develop honest relationships with profound struggles.” –Brenton P.
“Tony is the toughest Improv teacher I’ve ever had. I’m looking for that!” –Larry K.
“As a performer I always felt like a twin separated at birth. In the back of my mind I knew something was missing but I couldn’t figure out what. For me it turns out it was dramatic improv. Theatre Momentum and Tony Rielage have introduced and reunited me with the wonderful world of acting-based dramatic improv. And now I couldn’t go back if I tried. It is some of the most rewarding work I’ve done.” –Ben S.
